1 - Programme Overview

This external quality assessment programme assesses the accuracy of the assay of 3 serum markers used in the screening and monitoring of preeclampsia: sFlt-1 (Soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1), PAPP-A (Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A) and PlGF (Placental growth factor).

Number of control samples per survey: 1 or 2
Number of samples per year: 6

• sFlt-1 (Soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1)
• PlGF (Placental growth factor, pg/mL and MoM)
• sFlt-1/PlGF ratio (3rd trimester pregnancy pre-eclampsia risk assessment)
• PAPP-A (Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A)
• 1st trimester pregnancy pre-eclampsia risk assessment

4 - Description of the Control Samples

Human origin control serums in lyophilised form (samples to be resuspended in 1 mL of distilled water).

5 - Demographic Data

Demographic data are provided to allow the calculation of first-trimester preeclampsia risk.
